The shocking death of Sarah Everard, who disappeared while walking home along the South Circular, touched so many women in London.
While such serious crimes are rare, sexual harassment on the streets is rife, as is rape culture.
The pandemic has given us the ideal chance to pause and reflect - how do we emerge from this with our streets (and our society) a better, kinder, safer place for women?
How can women reclaim the city’s public spaces, go for a run after dark without being scared, not have to run a gauntlet of catcalls every time they leave their house? What needs to change? Should we be educating children differently on this issue? What can we all do?
Join Ayesha Hazarika, Nimco Ali, Soma Sara, and Jake Saunders to discuss.
